Title: Practically Free HDTV

Item Resource Page: DIY-CoatHangerHDTVAntenna

Pros: - Cheap
- Better than many antennas that cost 10s of times the price
- Easy
- You can probably find built ones for sale if you really don't want to build one yourself
- Educational

Cons: - You have to do some work yourself...?

Price Paid: $0 (Had Everything Already)

Overall Rating: 9/10

Other Info: I've built two since last May when I first found the videos and instructions online - definitely there's even more resources now with the US switchover happening very soon.

I didn't have to actually buy anything, I had the required 75/300 ohm UHF Transformers lying around my house, along with the metal coathangers.

They work great, I get 12 HD channels or so up here in Toronto.

It won't get the analogue signals any better than bunny ears, but it'll work - and the HD ones are picked up much better than the bunny ears ever could .

I was very close to buying a Silver Sensor or some other similar type of antenna - this one though definitely beats those others and for the price it's no contest. I have it coated up on the roof and it's doing great through all the snow, sleet, ice, and everything else that comes with Winter here in Canada.

Just make sure you have an ATSC tuner in your TV or box and you're good to go
