The C1 Update, like the new MT6/T6 Upgrades works only if you have it in Recovery Mode. I didn't edit the .ZIP file I posted for that version because it seemed to already include a Readme.txt file - its the exact same copy as is on the Samsung Site except hosted on this server instead of the Korean Samsung Mirror. Please see the MT6 Postings, and try to get into Recovery Mode - there are two good posts ongoing now that will hepl you with that. I've now added warnings to these Downloads where they are listed on the site. PJPeter

| I wish I could tell you exactly what was different that ONE time than the 30 TIMES I did it before. I tried it with battery in and out numerous times. I am also pretty sure I had a restart during this time. I think I held the POWER button on for at least 10 sec AFTER plugging the USB in. Did I hit any other buttons coincidentally...? I will tell you during those 30 times, I was hitting all kinds of combination or singles of buttons and joystick, all the while plugging the cable in. The LAST time was out of sheer frustration. I had it packed, RMA labelled and ready for FedEx. Why did I open it...Well, Call said he got his into recovery. WHY couldn't I...a pretty knowledgeable computer geek. That is why I opened it. Perserverence, I guess. Hope you get yours going. I am a little annoyed that Samsung would put the MT6 update on web without warning in the README. But don't give up...yours will resurrect itself, I'm sure. Treker

Curious...what difference does the battery make? Doesn't the USB take over supplying power immediately upon connection? With the battery out, pressing the ON button would do nothing...until powered by USB. I am interested... please enlighten us.

Interesting idea - it did annoy me sometimes with my YP-55 trying to put it into Recovery Mode, and having the thing turn on before the computer detected to the player. By having the battery out this prevents this from happening. Not sure if this would fix anyones problems though, but its worth trying definately. PJPeter

thanks for the quick replies, so far ive tried the battery reset too. the funny thing is i though that i put the player into recovery mode... but i was having problems putting the player into recovery mode before it was killed...i think my firmware that came with the player was a bit messed when i got it. i guess ill try a few more times before i pack it back up and send it off to the service centre which is in a differnt country, hope i get a new one. for now i'll go back to using the reliable old yp-55.
