Title: Free or nearly so 5V Generic to USB

Item Resource Page: DIY-Generic5VToUSBChargerTip

Pros: - Cheap and often free
- Standard components
- Simple and Quick to build (See Article)
- Extremely Useful for using USB devices with portable/crank/solar and other DC 5V Cell Phone and other Chargers
- Can be taken apart to use components seperately again if needed

Cons: - A bit long
- See the pin-out and make sure you pick the connect to the correct pins in the correct order (remember the polarity)

Price Paid: Free

Overall Rating: 9/10

Other Info: If you have a USB device you want to use on the go, and you have a Pocket Cell Charger, Dyanmo Radio/Charger, Dynamo Flashlight, Crank Charger or one of many many other similar devices then I'd build one.

I had the components from various other chargers and some USB mice, with the PS2 adapters just siting in the original boxes that came with the mice. Same with the Nokia/Samsung generic tips - I had tons of spares I didn't need. Even for $1 for each part though I'd say it's still useful enough to be worth it .
