Start Applications after boot, with a timer to cancel if not needed DelayRun.exe

I originally just had this posted to my XP Tip and Tweak list - but this is a very useful app that can work with all sorts of different Windows versions.

The website of the creator of this great little free app has gone down because it was hosted on Geocities (which Yahoo! has decided is superfluous this month) - but I've posted the Readme for the program here and an example I've made delay-running 'Beyond TV' here.

This app is very convenient for when you want something to boot with Windows most times (such as, for example, Beyond TV which records Live-TV programs from a TV Tuner - or a podcast downloader) - but don't want them to boot other times (such as when you're on the road and don't have the Tuner plugged in - or don't have internet). So this app displays a timer and gives you whatever amount of time you choose to cancel it before the application starts.

The program is simple to understand and very easy to customize through the included ini file, requiring no programming knowledge to use. Just edit the ini file, as described by the Readme document, and add a shortcut to the DelayRun.exe application in your 'Startup' folder. If you want to customize the timings of different applications, simply make a new directory with DelayRun.exe and the ini file and customize it separately.

It has a tiny memory footprint and low CPU requirements, so it doesn't slow anything else down to an appreciable amount, and if you want to start the given app instantly, you can with just a click of a button. All in all, a very useful program, even if you only use it occasionally. That one boot in 10 that you need it, it can be a real time saver.
